What a wonderful curriculum for this great virtuoso of
Accordion. Jean-Marc Torchy, my friend, under
your golden fingers, this instrument from the past was restored its nobleness.
From classical music to dance, from stage to CD, you fill all the friends of music
and dance, either music lover or layman, with enthusiasm. You bring your public
in a magic universe. You know how to pass on the values of your art. Your sense
of perfection, your modesty, your joy in life are the privilege of Artists, aren't
they? Your friend: André

Jean-Marc
TORCHY
is kindness, talent and simplicity, the whole combined in one single athlete of
accordion which he loves practising. Being a musician almost too complete would
be his sole handicap! Either classical - of course- Musette or folk, he does perform
every music style to perfection. Marcel AZZOLA and Joe ROSSI made him discover
free bass accordion and the classical repertoire. Jean-Marc has found his way
and is talented in playing ROSSINI, BACH, KATCHATOURIAN and so on. Winner of both
the price of the President of the Republic, and of World Cups in Hamburg, Jean-Marc
acquired a great fame as a concert performer. With the Chevalier's Quartet, he
played an active part in the growth of accordion in classical music. After a particularly
successful hearing, he was congratulated by the famous violinist: SIR YEHUDI MENUHIN,
which is an exceptional privilege for a young accordionist. He worked as a music
teacher at the French National Education and at the conservatory. Composer, songwriter,
interpreter, member of the SACEM (French private entity in charge of protecting,
representing and providing services for music authors and composers, and for the
creation of original music), Jean-Marc records on CDs some of the greatest dance
standards as well as his own original compositions in collaboration with the greatest
names of Accordion. Besides his recordings, we can
discover Jean-Marc TORCHY's playing excellence in classical concert, in dance
with his group, and by the side of several artists: LENY ESCUDERO, DEMIS ROUSSOS,
ALICIA, ALEXANDRA SLAVIA... as well as on the stage of the CETTE MARIANNE THEATRE
and on both regional and national channels like FRANCE 3, FRANCE 2, TF1, Radio
France, RCF etc... We discovered his recordings with enthusiasm and hope you will
feel as much pleasure in listening them as we had in producing them.
